今日は午後の４時からインタビュー
スーツにネクタイをピシッときめて家を出る
バーミンガムニューストリート駅から３駅目のWittonという駅で降りる
目的の翻訳会社は駅のすぐ横
思ったより小さいな会社だなーと思いながら、１時間ほど早く着き過ぎたので駅に逆行
ベンチで面接の準備を軽くし、暇つぶしに地図を眺める
時間になりいざ面接！
中に入り暖かく迎えられるは良いものの、面接をすっ飛ばしていきなりカウンターで仕事説明
昨日一日頑張ってつくった履歴書もすっ飛ばす！
「そりゃないよ」と思いながら長たらしい説明を聞く
それによると、日本人は現在僕一人のようだ
だから、なんか社長さんもニヤニヤとうれしそう
先月は日本語の通訳の仕事が４つも来たのに日本人がいないから流さなくちゃ行けなかったんだって
「それは残念でしたねー」と僕．．． シクシク
でもとりあえず、１つ仕事が決まった
しかし定期的に働けるわけではないのでもう一つバイトを探す必要があるだろう
I had a job interview from 4:00 today
Took a train from Birmingham New Street to Witton, which was just 3 stations away
The firm was there right next to the station
but I arrived 1 hour early, so went back to the station and
killed some time at station's bench, preparing for interview
The time has ripen for an interview, here I come!
Having entered the office, greeted with a warm welcome
And suddenly this guy asks me for my CV
easy, I thought, I spent hours making this CV yesterday
But WITHOUT looking at my CV, start explaining about this job, what you should and should not do as an interpreter and all that!
According to this guy, or the boss, I'm the only Japanese interpreter at the moment,
and he was waiting for me to come, apparently he knew me through my friend who already works for this firm.
All went well, got a new job today.
