日曜日。ロンドンJapanese Christian
Fellowshipという日本人教会に行く。
朝、９時のバスに乗り、２時間半、ロンドンビクトリア・コーチ・ステーションに着く。礼拝まで少し時間があったので、ナショナルギャラリーの横に
ある、ナショナル・ポートレート・ギャラリーというのに入って見た。イギリスの著名な人物画が、年代順に展示されている。なかなか、面白かった。
また今度ゆっくり見に来よう。
ロンドンJCFは、ナショナルギャラリーから歩いて１５分、シャフツベリー・アベニュー沿いにある綺麗な教会だった。午前は、英語の礼拝が行われ
ているらしい。日本人の礼拝は、午後２時半から。イギリスに来てから、日本語での礼拝は今日が始めてだった。賛美もメッセージも日本語、
なかなかいいものである。でも、日本にいた時はそれが当たり前だったんだよな。昼寝なんかして、もったいないことしてたな．．．反省。礼拝後は、
ティータイムがあり、交わりの時を持つ。
ロンドンを出たのが、夕方の６時半。バーミンガムに着いたのが、夜の１０時近く。明日から、大学が始まる！
Sunday. Went to London to attend the service run by JCF (Japanese Christian Fellowship).
Left the Birmingham Digbeth Coach Station at 9:00 and arrived London Victoria at 10:30. Since there was some time before the service,
decided to go to the National Portrait Gallery which is situated next to the National Gallery. Here, the portrait of famous British persons
are displayed room after room; it was very interesting.
London JCF was 15 min walk from the National Gallery, along the Shaftesbury Avenue. The church seemed quite new, and the in ther
morning the normal English service is held and in the afternoon by the JCF. It was the first Japanese service since I came to Britain.
How ironical, I used to sleep in the servie when I was in Japan, now I regret it. After the service, I joined for a tea and met lots of new
people.
It was half past six when I left London, and nearly 10:00 when I arrived at Birmingham. The Uni is starting from tomorrow!
