朝９時から原価計算の授業。実業界の先生で、なかなかおもしろかった。１２時から１時まで、Financial Managementの講義。この科目は
予想よりかなりマニアックな内容だった。今日は、株価の変動をグラフの形のみから予想する、テクニカル・アナリシスというのをやった。分析
対象の会社や、社会の状況などまったく分からなくても、パターンを読み取ることによって株の変化が予測できるというのが、この
テクニカル・アナリシスだが、かなり疑い深いものである。しかし、講義自体はなかなか面白かった。
午後３時、National Insurance Number取得のためのインタビューを受ける。予想以上に、厳格な形式で、幾度もかなり突っ込んだ質問をして
くる。「医者の名前は？」、そんなの覚えてるか！っと言い返したくなった。全体的にうまくいき、８〜１０週間でナンバーを郵送してくれるらしい。
ホッとした。インタビューから帰り際、普段の道を通らずに、運河沿いに歩いて帰ることにした。バーミンガムは、イギリスでも有数の運河の町で、
いたるところに張り巡らされている。昔は馬でボートを引いて物流を行っていたという。さすが、産業革命の発祥地イギリス。
Accounting lecture from 9:00. The teacher was from the industry and was really good, loud voice and all. Financial Management lecture
from 12 to 13:00. This module was more technical than I thought, today we learned how to forecast the movement of stock prices by just
looking at the 'shape' of the line graph, which is called 'technical analysis'. It is said, that you can make a prediction without knowing
anything about the company in question or the industry, but I doubted. It's crap. But lecture itself was pretty interesting.
From 15:00, had an interview for getting a National Insurance Number at the Job Centre. The interviewer was quite nice but the process
was a lot more complicated than I thought - he asked me a lot of probing questions like 'what's the name of you GP' , like I know. But all
went well, he said the department is gonna send me the number withing 8 to 10 weeks. On my way back, I decided to walk along the canal
for a change. The canal, always impress me when I think about its role, that people used to drag the boat with horses and the rise of steam
engine and all that.
