授業を午前で終え、午後５時から市内にオフィスを持つ某会計事務所の
就職説明会に参加する。
会計業務に興味を持つクラスメイトの友達４人と大学で５時前に待ち合
わせ、皆で歩いて行くことに。
オフィスは大学からわずか１５分、普段足を運ばないオフィス街の一角にあった。
プレゼンテーションは２０分の短いものだったが、その後社員の方々と交わりの時間が用意してあった。
人事の方によると、残念ながらインターンは受け付けておらず、新卒のみの採用らしい。
そんな予感がしてたんだ。だって僕達以外皆スーツなのだもの。
しかし、無意味だったわけではない。質問も色々できたし、何よりも軽食にありつけた。
カレー風味のミートボールが美味かったなあ。
Finished the lectures in the morning and from 17:00, attended the 'Graduate Presentation' by one of the accountancy firms in the city.
Met up with four of my class mates at Uni and together we headed for this place.
The office was not more than 15 min away, was situated in the office area of Birmingham where we don't that often go.
The presentation was only for 20 min but there was time to speak with company's employees afterwards.
The HR lady told us that they're not doing any placement programme and that they're only looking for newly graduates.
We all got the hint beforehand though, coz all the people around were wearing suits, and we were the only ones dressed casual.
But it wasn't at all meaningless; we did ask many questions which was quite useful
and above all, free food and drink.
The curry meat ball was the best, I don't mind risking to come here just for those meat balls.
