朝の１０時から、今日はメインサイトで工場見学をさせてもらうことにした。
着くとまず、「チャーリーとチョコレート・ファクトリー」に出てくる、ウンパ・ルンパのような服を着せられた。
工場内は時計もアクセサリー類も一切禁止のスーパー・クリーン・エリアだった。
工場内はウンパ・ルンパだらけだった！
圧縮機、ミクサーやら、パッケージングに至るまで、ガイドの人が丁寧に説明してくれた。
日本向けの製品は、品質基準が世界一厳しいらしく、皆頭を痛めているらしい。
日本人として、少し誇らしく、恥ずかしく．．．
今まで会計の仕事だけしかやってなかったので、視野が狭かったことに気付いた。
今日の経験で少し業界の知識が高まった気がしました。
From ten in the morning, went on a tour at the manufacturing site.
As I entered the building, I was asked to wear a 'clean suit', which covered from my head to toe.
I looked into a mirror and saw myself akin to one of those umpa-lumpas in the film 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'.
The site was a total clean area, no watches, no accesories whatsoever.
There were umpa-lumpas everywhere!
Our guide took us around the site and showed us various compressors, mixing machines, packaging facilities etc.
The guide said Japan has the highest quality regulation and that they were struggling to comply with them.
On hearing this, I was a bit proud but kind of embarassed inside my umpa-lumpa suit.
Having only worked in the accounting department, I realised that my vision was very narrow.
My understanding of the pharmaceutical business definately increased today.
