午後１２時半バーミンガムを後にし、東南東にバスで約４時間、午後４時半にケンブリッジに着いた。
ナショナル・エキスプレスのポイントが１０００ポイントも貯まっていたので、本来往復１８ポンドのところ、８ポンドでチケットが買えた。ラッキー。
今年のリトリートは、なんと５０人もの日本人がイギリスはもちろんのこと、ヨーロッパ各地からやってきた。
待ち合わせ場所で会った、イギリス人と日本人のハーフのスティーブは、５時間かけて遥々ウィンチェスターからやってきたそうだ。
去年のリトリートで会ったK君やHさんなどもとても元気そうだった。
１年なんて本当に早いな。
午後の６時に会場に着き、７時から第１セッション。
今回のリトリートのテーマは「神に従う」ということで、４つのセッションを使って、
様々な角度から神に従うとはどういうことかディスカッションをしていく。
クリスチャンになったばかりの人、まだ勉強中の人、色んな人と話せて本当に楽しく充実した一日だった。
夜、会場から車で１０分ほど離れたティムさんのお宅に３人泊まらせてもらった。
Sさんは神学校の３年生で、今年の６月卒業らしい。卒業後何するか悩んでいた。
Tさんはロンドンで演劇を学んでいるらしい。本当に色んな人がいるものだ。
明日が楽しみです。
Left Birmingham at 12:30 and arrived at Cambridge at around 4:30.
Usually, it cost about 18 pounds return to Cambridge, but since I had 10 pounds worth of points from National Express, it only cost me 8 quid this time.
But all the same, bus sucks - kills my neck.
I cannot believe that already a year passed since I attended this "Cambridge Retreat" last year, time does fly.
This year about 50 people came from all over UK and europe, which is about double the number compared to last year.
People came from Manchester, Sheffield, Winchester, Vienna and Paris just to name a few.
It was quite exciting just to hear where they're from and to learn about their backrounds and everything.
Arrived at this Church where this retreat is to be held at six and the first session started from 7 just.
The theme of this year's retreat is "To Serve God" and it seeks to understand the meaning of this following four different sessions.
It was so interesting to talk to other christians and non-christians, it was all the same fresh.
At around ten-ish, left the church and with S and T, went to Tim's house for the night's sleep.
S is studying theology and T is studying drama in London.
