朝5時半に起床。

バーミンガム7時10発、Bournmouth行きの電車に乗る。

駅で友達のチェンにあった。どうやら同じ会社のインタビューにいくらしい。すこしほっとした。

Basingstoke までは、電車で南に約2時間。

途中雪が降り始めて、電車がとまらないか不安だった。

9時20分に到着。10時まで少しあったので、チェンと紅茶を飲む。

交通費は会社持ちなので、会社まで豪華にタクシーに乗る。

今回は５つのポジションに対して、16人がインタビューを受けた。

驚くことに、同じ大学から合計5人も来ていた。

10時から1時間、会社説明。

11時から、自己紹介タイム。

「名前、大学名、学部、興味を持っていること、何か自分のスペシャルなことをアピールしてください」

5分間の準備の時間が与えられ、一番バッターはテーブルの端に座っていた僕。

「・・・　えー、興味は写真撮影です。撮った写真を毎日自分の日記ウェブサイトにアップロードしてます。

えー、スペシャルなことは、夏タンザニアの人と住んでいて、そこでカレーを無から作る方法を教わりました。

大したことではないですが、日本ではルーを使うので、日本に帰るとスペシャルなんじゃないかなあと思います」

何故かみんな笑ってくれた。ちょっとうれしかった。

午後1時からインタビュー。

1時から、5時半まで、なんと5人のマネージャーと5回もインタビューを受けた。

５つのポジションのうち、４つはすでに決まった。友達のチェンがオッファーをもらった！

残りの一つのポジションは、僕を含む3人の誰か。面接官の意見がなかなか決まらず、金曜日までに電話で連絡ということになった。

結果はすべて神様にまかせます。

カメラ持っていけば良かったなあ。

Woke up at half past five.

Took the ten past seven train from Birmingham New Street to Bournmoth.

Met Chen at the station and found out that we both have interviews from the same company.

Started snowing in the train, was worried about delay.

It was about two hours ride to Basingstoke.

Arrived at twenty past nine and since we had some time till ten, had a cup of tea with Chen.

Since the company was paying all the transportation expenses, we decided to take a taxi.

There was 16 people being interviewed today for 5 vacancies.

Surprisingly, out of those 16, 5 was from my Aston Uni.

Company introduction from 10 for an hour.

Then self introduction time.

"Tell me your name, university, degree and your interest and something special about yourself"

We were given five minutes to prepare and since I was sitting at the corner of the table, I had to go first.

I said " .... my interest is to take photographs and publish them on my webiste....

I was living with students from Tanzania this summer and they taught me how to cook curry from scratch.

Since Japanese people use one of those curry blocks, I think I will be special once I got back to Japan" or something.

They actually laughed, so I was quite happy.

I had to take five interviews with five different managers.  It was exausting.

Offers were given for 4 positions already on spot, including Chen!

One position remaining, competing with three people including me, all from same uni.

They said they gonna get back to me by Friday.

I'll just leave everything to God really.

Bit of a shame I didn't bring my camera today.
