夜、教会の「サイレント・オークション」というイベントの手伝いに行って来た。
約２００個ぐらいの商品が、テーブルの上にきれいに並べられ、
各商品に入札用のカードが貼られている。
最後に一番高い値を書いた人が、その商品を買えるという仕組み。
僕は、中華鍋を１．５ポンドで買った。超お得だった。
晩御飯も出た。
楽しい一時でした。
Went to church in the evening to help out an event called 'the silent auction'.
About two hundred items were neatly placed on the tables with numbers and bidding cards attaching to them.
Those who want to buy an item would write a bid, the price they're willing to pay.
And those with the highest price in the end will get to buy the item.
I managed to buy a wok for 1.50, it was a bargain!
There was a meal served afterwards.
It was a great fun.
