仕事後、ケヴィンとサイクリングに行った。
月曜日に計画して、楽しみにしていたので、今朝の雷雨は僕を少し不安にさせた（小説っぽく）。
しかし、午後５時ごろには、雨はやみ、予定通り実行することに。
空はどんよりと曇っていたけれど、逆に涼しくてとても気持ちよかった。
ジョーは出張にいっていたので、今日は彼女の自転車を借りることはできず、
（仕方なく）自分の自転車、プリンセス号で行くことにした。
６時に、ケヴィンの家の裏から出発。
Went cycling with Kevin after work.
We've planned it on Monday; I was worried this morning hearing the sound of lightning that we might not be able to do it today.
But by five o'clock, the rain stopped, so we decided to go ahead.
The sky was overcast, but it was nice cycling through the cool breeze.
Anyway, since Jo was on her business trip, I couldn't borrow her bicycle today,
so I decided to use my own, the Princess.
We started six from behind Kevin's house.
途中、大きな水溜りに行き詰まる。昨夜の雨のせいだ。
さてどうする、とケヴィンと相談。
引き返して他の道を探すか、それとも男らしく突き進むか。
突き進むことにする。
We came across this big puddle... from last night's rain...
We discussed for a while, what to do? Should we turn back and find another way? Should we go ahead like a man.
We decided to go ahead like a man.
やはり、男二人だと冷静な判断が下せないらしい。
足がずぶぬれになる。
Perhaps, it is difficult to come up with a sensible solution with two men.
We got soaked... yeah, it was quite deep.
さて、ぬれた足など意に介さず、前へ。
ケヴィンがこれほど運動に長けているとは知らなかった。
彼のペースにやっとの思いでついていく。
下り坂は好きだ。上りは嫌い。
途中、鹿が道を横切る。この辺に鹿がいるなんて知らなかった。
Anyway, not discrouraged by our wet legs, we kept going and going.
I didn't know that Kevin so fit... he kept going and going, I bearly managed to keep up the pace with him.
The downhill was nice though, I don't like the uphill (well, I guess nobody does).
A deer passed across the road in front of us, I didn't know that deer live around this area.
トンネルをくぐって。。。
Through the tunnel we went.
いきなり、ラヴェンダー畑が眼前に広がる。
これには驚いた。立ち止まって写真を一枚。
Then suddenly, we came across this beauuutiful lavendar field.
We stopped and I took some photographs.
ケヴィンの自転車には、距離を測定する測りがついている。
なんと、今日は２５マイル（４０キロ）もサイクリングしたらしい。
まったく、仕事後さわやかな汗を流す目的のサイクリングが、
途中からサバイバル・サイクリングになっていた。
心のなかで、「ケヴィン！君はどこまで行く気なんだ！」と叫んでいた。
とはいえ、景色が素晴らしかったので大満足。
ジャパニーズ・ツーリストは止まりません。
Kevin had little gadget on his bicycle that measures the distance we cycled.
And can you believe, we actually cycled for 25 miles (40km) pretty much non stop.
That was a hell of a cycling for what suppose to be an easy after-work cycling.
I was screaming in my mind,
"Kevin, when are you going to stop!"
Well, but I enjoyed the scenery, Japanese tourist never stops.
