朝教会に行く。
小学生は夏休みに入り、今日は出席がいささか少ないように感じた。
その後、モリソンズでお買い物。
スイカを買った。中ぐらいサイズ丸ごとで、１．８0ポンド。
冷蔵庫で冷やして、明日食べよう。
午後３時に、レディングでYusukeに会う。
彼も２週間前からBlacknellというところの
某IT系の企業でインターンを始めたばかり。
「もう、仕事覚えるので必死っすよー」
とか言って嘆いていた。
まあ、でも彼なら大丈夫だろう。
彼は、ギリシャからイタリア行きの船のデッキの上で凍え死にそうになって、
ガードのいない隙をみて、特級ラウンジにもぐりこんで、そこで一晩を明かしたぐらい、度胸の据わっている人だ。
昼飯を一緒にたべて、レディングの街をぶらぶらして帰ってきた。
レディングなら、ベージングストークからすぐ行けるので、
これからもたまに会えるでしょう。
Went to church in the morning.
I guess all the school children are now on summer holiday; seemed like there was less people than usual.
Went to the Morrisons afterwards.
I bought a watermelon, my favorite fruit, for only 1.80.
I'm going to put it in the fridge, make it nice and cold and eat it tomorrow.
Met Yusuke from 3 pm in Reading.
He just started his placement in an IT company since two weeks ago.
"Oh there's so many things to remember", he laments,
but to be honest, he will be fine.
He's got a brave heart, that when he was travelling from Greece to Italy on a ship,
he almost froze to death on the deck so he sneaked inside the first class lounge and spent the night there...
(of course, he got kicked outside in the morning)
We had lunch together, walked around Reading and said goodbye.
Well, Reading is not that far away from Basingstoke,
we shall see each other again soon.
