As we had a whole team today (which is a rare event), we went to the
pub for lunch.
Yesterday's announcement to shut down the company's manufacturing plant
came as a big shock.
The business rationale makes sense - excess capacity they say.
Since the factory was such a well established site, build more than 70
years ago, nobody would expect that it can suddenly be closed down.
Personally, this event made me think that I should not look for jobs
just for the sake of job security,
because no jobs are secure.
But I should look for jobs that would enables me to gain skills and
make me competitive,
so that whereever I go, I can excel at whatever I do.
