久しぶりにロンドンに来た.。
夕方６時過ぎから、父と一緒の職場のお方の弟さんであるという、Hayato君と中華街で晩飯を食べる。
彼は今、高級オークション・ハウスとして知られるサザビーズ付属の学校で
骨董品の勉強をしているらしい。
授業の様子や、将来の夢など、色々語ってくれた。
週末は、大英博物館で、中国や日本の古美術品を自分の目で見て、勉強しているというから、感心だ！
イギリスにきてから、まだ一ヶ月ちょっとらしく、
「まだ来てから一回も包丁を握ってない」というから、少し心配したけれど、
僕も来た当初、お茶漬けだけで生き延びられたことを思うと、まあ大丈夫だろう。
また会えるといいです。
Went to London.
From half past six, I met Hayato, who is a brother of a lady working at the same company as my father.
We had dinner at the China Town.
He just enrolled in 'antique studies' course at an institution connected to Sazabys, the auction house.
He told me about the teaching style of the class, his motives, his dreams etc.
I was impressed when he told me that he spends weekends at the British Museum, studying East Asian antiques.
He has been in UK for just over a month; he said he hasn't cooked anything yet,
but I wouldn't worry too much about that, I remember it was the same for me, surviving only with rice in the first few month.
Anyway, hope to see you again!
