仕事後、ケヴィンとサウザンプトンまで会計士の研修にいってきた。
ACCAは今年から、資格を維持する要件として、年に４０ポイント分の研修に参加しなくてはいけなくなったらしい。
僕はまだ合格してないけど、いい機会だと思ったのでケヴィンについていくことにした。
テーマはAccounting Standard Updateで、
講師がなんと、１０年前ケヴィンが会計士の試験勉強で通っていたカレッジで教わった先生だったらしい。
「あの頃からあの人かわってないよ。OHPを使って、淡々と、そしてあの口癖！」
確かにかなりドライだった。まあ会計学とはこんなもんさ。
なんだか、ノートとかとっていたら学生の頃のことを思い出した。
あ、僕はまだ学生だった。
Went to Southhampton after wok with Kevin to attend a seminar run by ACCA.
Apparently, ACCA introduced a scheme from this year,
whereby all qualified accountants must earn 40 points every year through attending seminars, to retain your title.
Although I'm not qualified yet, I thought this is a good opportunity to go to Southampton (and attend a seminar).
The topic was 'Accounting Standards Update'.
The lecturer literally went through all the accounting standards that have been updated recently one by one...
It was like doing revision for my exams.
What was funny was that, the lecturer used to teach Kevin ten years ago when he was studying in Southampton.
"She hasn't changed at all, with her bloody OHP and her habit of saying 'okay?' at the end of every sentence"
It was such a dry lecture, but I guess it's difficult to make accountancy interesting.
As I was taking notes, it reminded of my student days.
Wait a minute, I'm still a student.
