ボストンに来た。
空港を予想よりもスムーズに出られた。
しかし、ボストンは熱い。かなり寒いと言われていたので、冬用の大きなコートを着てきたのだが、間違いだった。
電車の中で汗をかいてしまった。
駅から降りてまず向かったのが、スターバックス。
暑かったので、アイスティーを注文して一休憩。
ユースホステルに到着したのが夜の８時前。
予想通り、ここのユースは現在日本人に占領されていた。僕と同じ目的で皆来ているわけだ。
シャワーを浴びて、カフェテリアに降りていったら、皆明日の面接の準備を頑張ってやっていた。
イギリスからわざわざ来たと教えたら、かなり驚かれてたが、
カルフォルニアやカナダからも来ている人がいたので、時間的にはあまり変わらない。
アメリカは大きな国だ。
Came to Boston.
I got out of the airport quite smooth.
In contrary to what I've been told, Boston was not cold at all.
I was sweating in the train, as I was wearing a big winter coat.
The first shop I went into was Starbucks. It was so hot that I ordered an icetea.
I took out my map and identified where my youth hostel was.
The youth hostel was, not surprisingly, full of Japanese here for the same purpose as myself, i.e. to attend the career forum.
So everybody was preparing for tomorrow's interview in the cafeteria, which was quite funny.
People were surprised when I told them that I came all the way from UK,
but there were some people from California and Canada, which takes about the same time.
It's a big country.
インターネットをやっていたら、日本語を話せるハンガリー人のアンデュリューに会った。
日本の慶応大学で勉強をしているらしい。
I met this Hungarian guy, Andrew, who studies in Keio University in Japan.
So his Japanese was very fluent.
これが僕の部屋。４人のシェアだ。
This was my room, sharing with four people.
時差ぼけでかなり眠かったので、今日は早めに寝ることにした。
I was suffering from a bit of jet lag so I decided to just go to sleep without doing any preparation.
