イギリスのテレビ番組で僕が唯一毎週欠かさず見るのは、ドラゴンズ・デン （竜の巣）だ。
毎週火曜日、１１時からやっている深夜番組。
ドラゴンという名前は、５人のベンチャー・キャピタリストのことを指している。
彼の前で、自分達の考えついたアイデアや発明品に出資してもらおうと、様々な人がプレゼンテーションを行う。
くだらない物もあれば、素晴らしい製品もたまにある（今夜のチャイルド・シートベルト・クリッパーは素晴らしかった）。
ドラゴンたちが、プレゼンテーションのあとに、様々な難しい質問を聞く。
「今後３年間の利益の予測は？」
「お金をどう使うつもり？」
とか、たまに「時間の無駄だから帰ってください」とかきついことも言う。
ドラゴンの思考過程を見るのが、ものすごく面白いし、ためになる。
よく数値が出てくるので、電卓を持って、一緒に計算とかするほど大好きだ。
いつも番組を見終わった後、彼らの頭をふっ飛ばすには、どんな製品がいけるだろうと考えたりする。
たまに、空想的なことも考える。
「人間と完璧に会話することのできるロボットを作りました、１00万ポンド出資してください」とかね。
ああ、彼らを仰天させられるアイデアがあれば、番組に出席するのになあ。
The only TV program in UK I consistently watch is Dragons' Den.
It's on Tuesday from 11pm.
The name "Dragons" refers to refers to five venture capitalists,
who listen to presentations from people seeking investments on various products/services that they've invented.
Some inventions are rubbish, and some are very ingenious (like tonight's childseat seat belt clipper).
The Dragons ask all sorts of challenging questions such as
"what's your profit forecast", "how do you intend to spend this money?" or
they sometimes tell them "go home, it's waste of my time".
I love it because it is so interesting to learn these investor's thinking process.
I even have my calculator in my hand, to check what they're saying (valuation of the business, profit forecast etc).
Always after the program, I try to think about a product that can absolutely blow their heads off.
Sometimes, I even make something up in my mind, like super robot that does everything for you
and I would seek an investment of 1 million pounds for mass production.
Damn, I want to absolutely impress them, I wish I had some good idea.
