日本で６年程前に殺されたイギリス人、ルーシー・ブラックマンの裁判の判定が昨日あった。
なんと、ブラック・マンの殺人は、証拠不足で無罪となった。
その一部始終がタイムズ紙に今日大きくとりあげられていた。
あれだけ多くの証拠を提示されていながら
裁判官が一体どういった考えでこの判決を下したのか分からない。
人はある状況にどっぷりと浸かってしまうと、常識をつかって客観的に考えられなくなると思う。
陪審制はやはり必要だ。

Unbelievably, the guy was acquitted of raping and murdering Blackman for inconclusive evidence.
The summary of the case was written in quite a detail in the Times.
Having read this, I struggle to comprehend how this judge came to such a decision...
It's simply appalling.
I feel this judge, being involved in the case for such a long time, gradually lost the ability to think objectively.
Any bystander would think that there is more than plenty conclusive evidence.
Japan needs to implement the jury system very quick.
