今日はVeterans Day（戦争記念日）ということで、ヴィクトリア広場には大砲と、戦争体験者による展示が行われいた。
Today was the Veterans Day.
昼２時に、予定通り黒猫ヤマトが来て、荷物を全部持っていってくれた。
これでかなり身軽になった。
残っているものといえば、夏服と卒業式に着るスーツと靴３足、あと調理道具ぐらいだ。
大学の図書館から本を借りることができなくなったので、
仕方ないので、バーミンガムの中央図書館に借りにいった。
カフカとトーマス・マンの本は借りられていたので、
ジェームズ・ジョイスのDublinersという本と、トーマス・ハーディーのReturn of the Nativesを借りてきた。
卒業式まで正直やることがない。
本を読んで自己啓発するしかない。
ああ、あと漢字の練習しなくちゃ。
日本で働くってことは大変だなあ。
At 2pm, Kuroneko Yamato (Japanese moving company) came and took my boxes, all nine of them.
Now that they're gone, all I have with me is
some summer clothes, three shoes, suit for my graduation and some cooking utensils.
Since the university does not allow final year students to borrow any more books (which reasons I would like to know),
I went to Birmingham Central Library to borrow some novels.
I wanted to borrow Kafka and Thomas Mann's novels, but they were out (I cannot believe that people actually use this old library),
so instead I borrowed Dubliners by James Joyce and Return of the Natives by Thomas Hardy.
There's absolutely nothing in plan before my graduation,
and so self-enlightenment through reading looks like the only option left for me.
Oh and of course, I have to practice writing/reading kanji.
You know, working in Japan entails many difficulties.
