午後Jamと試験の途中経過を話した。

Marketing Strategyという試験が難しかったらしく

試験後泣いていた学生もいたのだとか。

イギリスの大学は成績によって、学位の種類が区分されるので、

なるべく良い区分に入ろうと皆必死になって勉強する。

夜、フラット・メイトのエドに、「明日の会計学の試験の準備はどうだ」と聞くと

「連結会計は捨てたよ、まったくわからん」

実は連結会計がこの試験のメイン・ディッシュで、それがだめだとかなりきついとおもったので、

この借方と貸方の違いが分からないエド君に、会計学の基礎から連結までを

ご飯が炊けるまでの３５分間で一気に教えた。

彼は、あまり勉強しないが、けっこう頭がきれるほうなので、

けっこうすんなりと理解できたようだった。

その上、君は命の恩人だよといわんばかりにお礼を言われ、

おまけに、ハリボー（グミ）を一袋くれた。

Was talking to Jam today in the afternoon.

He said Marketing Strategy was really difiicult,

so difficult that someone was actually crying after the exam.

It's understandable though, in UK, the degree will be different depending on your grade,

so there's  strong incentive for students to study hard.

In the evening, I asked Ed "how's your financial accounting for tomorrow?"

Then he goes, "I think I'm not gonna bother with the consolidated accounts".

The consolidated account happens to be the main dish of this exam and I thought I would help him a bit,

so while I was waiting for my rice to cook,

I taught Ed, who doesn't know the difference between debits and credits the consolidation stuff step by step.

I think Ed is quite intelligent as he seemed to have understood most of the thing I taught him.

He gave me a bag of Haribo in return, thanks.
