During lunch, I was talking to I-san, my colleague, about cooking.
He taught me how to make miso soup stock from sea weed, from fish chips and mushroom
(he also taught me the "triple mix", which is a top secret).
Following his advise, I cooked miso soup for dinner, this time preparing the soup stock as well.
Well, I seemed to have put too much miso paste,
that I couldn't tell much difference from yesterday's soup,
but I guess it was better...
I-san seems very keen on cooking, and he is also my cooking consultant.
I was wondering what I should cook this Saturday at church,
then he goes,
"how about shougayaki (fried pork seasoned with ginger)".
Then I replied, "but all you need to do is to stir fry pork and vegetables isn't it?", then he goes,
"Umakoshi-san, if you think like that, you could never become a good cook".
So, I asked him his Golden recipe of shougayaki today.
It sounded really sophisticated.
I think I'm going to use this as a revenge from last Saturday.
