I was so happy when Mitz asked, 'do you want to go to Firenze
tomorrow?'
We took the ten o'clock train from Perugia to Firenze; it was an
hour and forty minutes ride.
According to Mitz, the Italian rail system is awful, but the seatings
were more spacious than the British trains - it was nice and
comfortable.
We arrived just before lunch time and walked towards the Duomo.
I was astonished by the architecture of this city; they're massive.
We went to Galleria degli Uffizi and after lunch, we went to Galleria
dell'Accademia, where Michelangelo's 'David' is stored.
I stood in astonishment infront of 'David', it was so much bigger than
I thought.
Uffizi was simply great. I got a strong impact from da Vinci,
Rubens, Lorenzetthi's paintings,
and Botticelli's 'The Birth of Venus' is still fresh in my memory.
As the day drew on, the lights decorating the streest got
accentuated, it was beautiful.
I promised myself to come back to this city again in the future.
