朝は読書。
昼にオーブンを使ってピザを焼こうと思ったが、煙が噴出してきたのでやめた。
家主に使い方を教えてもらおう。
街に行って、仕事用のズボンとワイシャツを買った。
夕方、チェンに２３日から住む予定の家がキャンセルになったとのことを告げられる。
困ったなあ、また家を探さなくちゃ。
チェンの家で晩飯をご馳走してもらった。
明日はバーミンガムに行って、残りの荷物を取ってこなくちゃいけない。
Wednesday
Was reading quietly in my room in the morning.
For lunch, I tried to eat a pizza using the oven, but smoke started coming out and
thought it prudent to ask my landlord's instructions first rather than to burn the whole house down.
Went to town and bought a trouser and some shirts for work.
In the evening, Chen called and with a voice of desperation she goes,
'maki, the agency called me and told me that the landlord has cancelled his offer', referring to the house we
intended to move in from the end of July.
Damn, so we have to find a new one...
To discuss the matter with Chen, went to her house for dinner; she was living opposite of the shopping centre, ten minutes away.
She cooked some dinner for me, some noodles.
When I'm with Chen, we always debate on stupid topics.
Today we started debating about the usefulness of S&P 350 ranking table...
She goes,
'Maki, you're technically a nice person, but I think you're too serious'
which gave me a big laugh. I'm not that serious you know.
Going to Birmingham tomorrow to move the rest of my stuff.
