今日から再
び大学が始まった。
夜、パソコン室でニュースをチェックすると、
アメリカ、バージニア州の大学で悲惨な事件が起きたことが分かった。
現在確認されているだけでも３２人もの学生が殺されたと。
コロンバイン事件後も、アメリカでは意図も簡単に銃を手に入れることができる。
アメリカで銃の民間保持を今から規制するのは現実的に考えて無理だが、
バージニア州では、誰でも個人情報チェックなしで銃が買えてしまったことを考えると
少なくとも、銃の売買を厳しくするべきだろう。
亡くなった学生のために心が痛みます。

In the evening, I read about the
horrifying news happened
in Virgina Tech university.
Even after Columbine incident, it is so easy to buy
guns in America.
Realistically speaking, I don’t think
it’s possible to
ban possession of guns by civilians,
given that “200 million guns are in
private hands”.
But still, they could have made it difficult to
purchase guns, such by doing background checks on the purchaser,
or should have
come up with more high-tech means of restricting guns.
I pray for those students killed and for
their families.
