We left Berlin at 10.
It took us four hours by ICE train to Cologne.
The Gothic style Cologne Cathedral was standing right next to
the station.
It was too big to capture it in full with Chie's 28mm camera.
The 16 century stained glass was very beautiful.
I was told, from a friend living in Germany, that the beer in
Cologne called Kolsch is worth drinking,
so I had a go. It was very nice indeed.
But sometimes in the future, I want to drink the local beer, produced
in a private brewely.
During this trip, Masa has acquired various
nicknames.
One of them was
"A man who cannot tell the difference - Masa".
After drinking the Kolsch beer, he goes
"it's the same as any other beer"
hence he acquired this name.
We had a good fun with coming up with new names for Masa.
I bought a columnbian coffee beans.
Also in a super market, I bought a Papua New Guinean coffee beans.
Don't say that they have nothing to do with Germany.
After all, most of the souvenirs are not made in that country.
River Rhine.
"the river's width is narrower than I thought" says Chie.
Izumi was constantly saying that she wants to eat a frankfurt in
Germany.
Well, her dream has come true just 30 minutes before leaving this
country.
We ate them in the station.
Ironically, it tasted betteer than the frankfurt I ate in Frankfurt in
my previous trip.
See, good things are good regardless of where they're made.
Hence, my purchase of cofees beans is justified.
The train was 20 minutes late.
We left Cologne at half past six,
the next stop is Luxembourg.
Due to a delay in the train, it took us over four hours to
Luxembourg.
The sceneary from the train window was very calming.
