We left Luxembourg at ten.

It's a three hour journey from Luxembourg to Brussels.

We dropped our luggage at the youthhostel and Izumi,

who has been to this city before, gave us a quick tour.

Leaving only a week before Easter, all the chocolate shops had

Easter bunnies and eggs on their shop window.

Again the girls go "cute" (I think the Japanese girls are obsessed with this word).

Shopping gallery.

This is the centre of the city, called Grand Place.

Only five minutes from the Grand Place, there is the famous Manneke Pis.

Well, as I was told, it was smaller than I thought, you would just go by pass it if you didn't know.

Later, when we went in to the City Museum we learnt that the purpose of Manneke Pis

was simply to provide drinking water to the civilians, like all other public fountains used in those days.

I must admit that one of the things I was looking forward to before coming to Brussels was

to eat a waffle.

So we ate.

But instead of eating a simple waffel with just honey on top,

we stupidily ordered a one with full of things on top, like tons of creams and strawberries and sugar and stuff.

And by the end, I was sick of it.

I don't want to eat a waffle for a long time.

Through the restaurant street we went.

Chocolate shop.

A view from the south of the city, Kunstberg.

Young people playing football in the Royal Park.

A Young man eating Haribo in the Royal Park.

In every city, you can find local kids playing.

We had dinner in one of the restaurants.

It felt like we haven't had a decent meal for ages (maybe it was only me).

I ordered some mussels.

I ate too much mussels that by the end, I didn't want to see any more mussels for a long time.

Not long before we got out of the restaurant and were walking through the Grand Palace when we were stopped by this man who goes,

"you forgot this"

It was a guy from the restaurant, who very kindly ran few hundred meters to hand Masa a bag he left behind.

Just before I was going to tell Masa "oh how stupid can you be to leave your bag",

Izumi tells me,

"where is your backpack Maki?"

So, here it goes again, I left mine in the restaurant as well.

It was like a comedy.

So I ran back.

The guys in the restaurant were all laughing,

I was feeling a bit embarrased.

All the shops were selling this Manneke Pis statue as souvenirs.

It was a bit weird.

We arrived at the youth hostel at nine,

took a shower and went down in the bar and ordered some cheap and insipid beer.

Chie played the pool for the first time.

Masa was engrossed in playing chess.
