JAPANESE
Today is a bank holiday.
Met up with Sam, Judith, Ellie and her sister (I'm so sorry, I forgot
your lovely name) and went to the Notthing Hill Carnival.
It was a lovely summer weather and was perfect for the carnival.
We had some grilled chiken for lunch and then just randomely walked
around the area.
The whole district was carnivalised, much bigger than I thought.
There were strange people here and there, dancing and singing and
yelling and saying some radom things like
'scooby doo, whistle for one pound'
There was one place where they had some Japanese letters
written, singing some random
quasi-Japanese songs, and dancing most dexterously with their
unpredictable leg movements.
Then we saw the carnival marches.
All the marching bands were very creative; I liked the drums.
The sounds was so loud and my heart was thumping like elepahant
stampede.
We watched the march for more than two hours, after which my legs
became stiff like hammer.
All in all, it was a lovely day, a perfect ending for the summer
2005.
Well, nearly perfect, as I got my wallet stolen in the bus.
I had about 30 quid inside and an almost completed Cafe Nero card, that
was it.
Sam and Judith lent me some money for my fares back home, which I was
most thankful for.
I have realised how wonderful friends are and so, yeah, I guess it was
a perfect ending to this year's summer.
