それで今日、ロブとサイモン・アンド・ガーファンクルズのどの曲が一番良いか議論になった。
僕の「明日に架ける橋」という断定に反応して、ロブが
『冗談だろ、それは僕の中では一番最悪の歌だね。やっぱり一番は「ボクサー」でしょ』。
『は？「明日に架ける橋」が一番で、ナンバーツーが「ミセス・ロビンソン」にきまってるでしょ』と反論。
で、ロブが
『「ミセス・ロビンソン」は確かにいい曲だよ、でもナンバーツーはどうでもいいんだよ、問題は君のナンバーワンが『明日に架ける橋』だっていうことだよ」
で僕が
「は、落ち込んでいる人はこの歌を聞いて元気付けられるんだよ、明日に橋を架けるんだから」
説得しようとしたけど、だめだった。ロブは何も理解していない。
確かに「ボクサー」はいい歌だよ、でもやはりサイモン・アンド・ガーファンクルは「明日に架ける橋」でしょ。
仕事後、勉強しながら何度も聞いていた。

Kevin lent me the Simon & Garfunkel's best album.
We had an interesting debate today in GA, over which song by Simon & Garfunkel is the best.
In response to my assertion 'Bridge Over Troubled Water is by far the best', Rob goes,
'you're kidding, that's the worst, The Boxer is the best'
then I went 'what? Bridge Over Troubled Water is definately No1 followed by Mrs Robinson'
Then Rob goes 'Mrs Robinson is okay, I don't care what you choose for No2, but No1 cannot be Bridge Over Troubled Water'.
Then I went 'what? it's for people who are sad and depressed, it's THE Bridge Over Troubled Water'
I tried to persuade him, but he didn't give in, he's not understanding what Simon&Garfunkel is, what life is!
Well, 'The Boxer' is alright, but I still think that Bridge Over Troubled Water is the best song written by Simon & Garfunkels.
I was listening to it after work, over and over again,
it's good for a person like me,
who is standing in front of a troubled water and who want to desperately go across the other side,
the current is too strong to wade through,

it's perfect song, really, reminds me of my youth.
But hey, I'm still young.
