１２時にトラファルガー広場でYusukeと待ち合わせをする。
Yusukeの友達のジェーソンとステファンとも合流。
ジェーソンはYusukeの大学の友達。
ドイツ人のStefanは、現在Yusukeと同じ会社でサマーインターンをしている。
Yusukeが髪を切っている間（どうも、ロンドンには日本人が経営している美容院があるらしい）、
３人でコヴェントガーデンを歩き回る。
ステファンはニール・ストリートで、腕時計を買った。
Met up with Yusuke at the Trafalgar Square at 12.
Jason and Stefan joined as well
Jason is Yusuke's frind from Aston University.
Stefan is German, he has been doing his two and half month summer internship at the same company as Yusuke.
While Yusuke was getting his hair cut (at a "Japanese hair dressers"),
we walked around Covent Garden, down the Neil Street.
Stefan bought a watch.
さて、Yusukeが美容院から出てきた後、
Yusukeの提案で、タワーブリッジ近くの、テムズ川沿いにある、
デザイン・ミュージアムに行くことにする。
At half past two, Yusuke came out of the hairdressers and we decided to go to the Design Museum,
which is near Tower Bridge, along the Thames.
タワーブリッジに着くと、珍しくも橋が開いていた。
帆船のマストが高すぎたらしい。
When we arrived at the Tower Bridge, the bride was opening up,
which is quite a rare event,
apparently, the mast of this sailing ship was too high to go under it.
現在、デザイン・ミュージアムでは
F-1のデザインをテーマにした展示と、最上階には"Designing Modern Britain" という
２つの展示を行っていた。
レーシング・カーの実物モデルはすばらしかった。
There were two exhibitions going on at the moment:
"Formulae One - the Great Design Race"and on the top floor, there was an exhibition called "Designign Modern Britain".
I really enjoyed the exhibition on Formula One,
they had the real F-1 racing cars displayed.
Yusukeはメイド・イン・ジャパンのファンだ（誇りを持っているわけです）。
街を歩いていて、日本製の携帯電話や、車が走っているとかなり喜ぶ。
だから、ホンダのF-1エンジンの展示を見つけたときの、喜びようといったら。
Yusuke gets excited about anything made in Japan,
whether it be a digital camera, a TV or anything,
so imagine his excitement when he saw the F-1 Honda Engine.
最上階の"Designing Modern Britain"もなかなかおもしろかった。
イギリス人デザイナーによる様々な、家具、コンコルド、地下鉄のマップ等等が展示されていた。
よく考えてみれば、ペンギン・ブックのカバーデザインはすばらしい。
ペンギンがいなくても、ペンギンだと分かる。
ものすごい効果的なブランディング戦略だ。
The top floor's "Designing Modern Britain" was quite interesting as well.
Various displays of items designed by British artists,
such as various furnitures, Concorde, underground map etc.
Having to think about it, Penguin Books' cover design, designed by Edward Young, is ingenious.
It is so distinctive that even without a penguin logo, you know that it's a penguin book.
A very effective branding strategy.
この展示はおもしろかった。
Rescapeという作品で、
航空写真をはりつけた映像が、フロアに投影されていて、
空を飛んでいるような気分にさせられる。
This demonstration was funny, it's called Rescape.
When you stand on this floor,
where digital aeria photographs stiched together are projected,
you feel as if you're flying.
この、プレイステーション椅子はとても心地よかった。
「リラックスしてプレイステーションを楽しめる」といった発想でデザインされたらしい。
納得。
将来、自分の部屋に、ぜひ一つおきたいものだ。
こういうミュージアムは、実際にリビングルームにある姿を思い浮かべながら観て回ると、とても楽しめる。
I really liked this chair, called Playstation Chair.
It was so comfortable,
I thought when I get a room for myself in the future,
I'll get this chair in the living room, seriously.
You can really enjoy this kind of exhibition, when you picture furnitures to be in your room.
５時半に外に出る。
通りすがりのチェコ人が撮ってくれた写真。
It was about half past five when we got out of the museum.
A passerby Czech couple took us this photograph.
「イタリアを思い出させるなあ」とかステファンが言っていた。
確かにこのあたりには、モダンな建物が多い。
このあたりで、相当お腹が空いてきた。
"It reminds me of Italy" said Stefan.
Yeah, there were some fancy buildings around this area.
At this stage, we were becoming so hungry.
all we could think about was food food food.
Yusukeが、ピカデリー・サーカスの近くにある、
てんてん亭という、日本食レストランに連れて行ってくれた。
大盛りの牛丼を注文する。
うまかったあ。まじで。
Yusuke took us to a Japanese Restaurant, Ten Ten Tei, near Picadilly Circus.
It was great, I ordered a large portion Gyudon (beef on rice), the volume was great, I barely managed to eat all up.

食後、Yusukeが今度は、日本の古本屋に連れて行ってくれた（彼はなんでもしっている）。
しかし、こんなものがロンドンにあるとは知らなかった。
ロンドンには何でもある。
Yusuke took us to this second hand Japanese book shop,
I didn't know such thing exists.
Yusuke is right, there's pretty much anything in London.
今日は本当に楽しい一日だった。
またいつか、会おう！
Yeah, it was a nice day, I enjoyed it.
