JPN

I got on a half past nine train to Tarragona, a seaside town an hour and half away to the south of Barcelona.

I walked up the slope, looking over the beache on my right and headed towards the old part of the city.

I bought some cherries at a store near the cathedral and ate all of them in one go (well, not in one gulp).

The fruits in Spain are very cheap and I've been continuously eating them during my stay in Spain.

There are lots of Roman ruins in Taraggona.

Some of them stands next to a normal cafe, which does not look that much out of place.

I went into the Archeological Museum.

The Roman Mosaics were beautiful.

I had a good view of the city from the roof of the museum.

It was a siesta time when I got out of the museum and the city was silent.

I love taking city photographs.

But it's very difficult to capture the lifestyles of the people.

You have to constantly be looking out for things.

I'm an amateur, but if I was to choose a theme and become a professional photographer,

I will choose to become a city photographer.

There was a castle, I paid some fee and got in.

I rested under this coconut tree.

It was hot.

There was a market in the centre of the city, and here I bought a tanktop shirt for three euros.

I thought I want to get properly tanned.

I found out that there is a station called Port Ventura next to Tarragona.

I heard it from a lady in the train on my way to Tarragona who, just before I got off, told me,

'Everybody gets off at the next station'.

Her words was stuck in my mind and I decided to go there, thinking perhaps it's a beach or something.

When I got off at Port Ventura,

I was confronted by this weird statue.

I thought, 'oh no, I have a bad feeling about this'.

I kept walking towards where everybody else seems to be walking,

then I learnt that Port Ventura is a name of an amusement park.

Damn...

So I turned around and went back to the station, and waited for my train back to Barcelona.

Today must be the summer solstice.

The sun was still so high and heated the platform like a sauna.

When I came back to Barcelona, I walked around the beach.

I had paella for dinner.
