今週末は月曜日が海の日で三連休。
今日は教会の青年会で、秋川渓谷で川遊びをした。
朝、10時に拝島駅で待ちあわせる。
拝島から武蔵五日市まで行き、そこからバスに乗り、コテージ森林村で下車。
ちょうど僕が想像していたような、河原の静かな所を見つけ、泳いだ。
As Monday is "Umi-no hi (Ocean day, a public holiday)", it's a three-day weekend.
The youth group from our chuch organised to go to Akikawa Valley, siuated in the west of Tokyo.
We met at Haijima at ten.
From Haijima, we took the train to Musashi Itsukaichi.
From there we hopped on a bus and got off at a small camping ground.
The place was just as I imagined, quiet and with a river that we can swim.

この浮輪がけっこう重宝した。
We really enjoyed playing with this inner tube that Takamasa-san brought with him.
武蔵五日市の駅前にあった八百屋で買ったスイカを川で冷やす。
やはり夏の定番といえばスイカだ。

河原でランチを食べる。
今回のアウティングはかなり急に決まったので、
バーベキューの用意する時間はなかったので、各自持参のランチ。
片付けが楽なので、結果オーライだ。

As this outing was only organised like two days before,
we couldn't organise to do a barbecue, and everyone brought their own lunch instead.
Which wasn't too bad, it was nice and simple.
僕は一人で、上流のほうに歩いていった。
川は浅く、流れはとても緩やかで、冷たい水が足に心地良かった。
今日は全国各地で梅雨明け宣言が出され、ようやく東京にも夏が来た。
毎年夏になると、ノスタルジアを感じる。
きっとそれは、子供の時に夏の良い思い出がたくさんあるからで、
今日も夏の良い思い出ができたと思った。
I waded through the river alone to the upstream.
The river was shallow, and the cold gentle stream felt so pleasant.
Every year during summer, I feel nostalgic perhaps because most of my good childhood memories are associated with summer.
I made another good memory which I'm sure to feel nostalgic sometime in the future.
ちなみに、I.Kojiだけ、今日は遅刻した。
実に3時間の遅刻で、現地に直接現れた。
下の写真は、彼が寒いからと言って、
熱くなった石の上に寝転んでいる姿。
彼はまるでガラパゴス諸島のイグアナのようだ。
I.Koji came late, directly to the camping ground.

3時間冷やしたけれど、あまり冷えていなかったスイカを食べる3人。

午後3時まで河原で遊んだ後、
行きのバスの中のおばちゃんに教えてもらった、「瀬音の湯」という温泉に行くことに。
河原から歩いて20分。
We played at the river until three.
Then I recalled a lady in the bus telling me about an onsen (a hotspring) within a walkable distance.
Seoto-no-yu (name of the onsen), was only twenty minutes walk.
この坂を上っている最中、
どう考えても、この暑い中温泉に入る気分ではないと気が付く。
が、時はすでに遅し。
Walking up this slope,
we realized that it was actually to hot to go into onsen.
But it was too late.
山の中にあるとてもきれいな温泉で、まったりしました。
とても贅沢な一日だった。
The onsen was surrounded by trees, it was beautiful.
Onsen turned out very nice.
It was a relaxing day.
