4時に起床。昨晩は頭が痛かった。
間違いなく高度のせいだろう。
Woke up at four. I had a headache last night,
probably due to the high altitude.
起きた時はまだ霧が立ち込めていた。
おいしい朝食を食べ、乾燥室から荷物をまとめて戻ってくると、
少し霧が晴れて来ているのに気がついた。
急いで、荷物を纏めて、
着替えた後、外で景色を見守る。
It was still misty when I woke.
I had a gorgeous breakfast.
As I finished sorting out my stuff and got out from the drying room,
the heavy fog was starting to clear away.
I hastily packed my belongings,
changed clothes and got outside.
大キレットをわたって行くという老夫婦の姿が、
朝日が射し込み、赤くなった霧の中に消えて行った。
The old couple who said they will cross over the cliffs to Yarigatake disappeared into the mist,
now burning in red from the sun rise.
霧が段々と薄くなり、山肌が見えて来た。
自分が凄い所にいるということが漸く分かった。
Then the mist became thinner and thinner,
gradually showing the mountain ridges.
I finally noticed that I was standing on a peak which had a magnificent view of the North Alps.
槍ヶ岳までの尾根が奇麗に見えた。
7時20分まで、槍ヶ岳の穂先が見えないか粘ったが、
最後まで雲がかかっていた。
でも今思うと、逆にあれは見えないほうが味があって良かった。
次回のお楽しみということだ。
今日の体調は素晴らしかった。
何せ天気が素晴らしい！心も弾む。
Now the great cliff to the Yarigatake was clearly visible.
I waited until 7:20 hoping that the summit of Yarigatake would show up.
But it finally didn't show up, which was good in itself,
as it left something to look forward to for my next visit.

上から、涸沢ヒュッテが見えた。
登りは霧で全く何も見えなかったので、
下山の景色が非常に新鮮だった。
From the top, I was able to oversee Karasawa.
As I had virtually no view going up,
I enjoyed the great view for the first time.
涸沢には8時50分に到着。
水を補給し、すぐに出発した。
涸沢からの穂高連峰の景色は迫力があった。
Arrived at Karasawa at 8:50, my knees were already feeling shaky.
I replenished my water bottle and took off without resting too much.
The view from here was very picturesque.
帰りは、行きとは別ルートの、
「パノラマコース」という道を歩いた。
「危険な箇所が多いので、強脚者向け」と看板に少々びびったが、
大して危険な道ではなかった。
ただ、下りというよりは、巻き道なので、登りも多く、
体力的には結構要求された。
I took the different route on my way back, called the Panorama Course.
It had a sign saying "Many dangerous spots, for advanced hikers only", which discouraged me a little,
but it wasn't that dangerous at all, but it required some strength, as it was more of going up then down.
景色が素晴らしかった。穂高連峰と槍ヶ岳が両方パノラマで見える、
絶景だった。この大自然を創られた主に感謝！
It was just beautiful. I thanked the Lord who created all this.
途中、道で遭ったご老人が、
「徳沢のアイスクリームはうまいよー」としみじみと言っていたので、
アイスクリームを思い浮かべながら、ひたすら徳沢に向けて歩いた。
長かった。
ただ、鳥のさえずりや、豊かな木々の香りの中を歩いていると、
生きる喜びを感じられた。
The old man who I met along the way told me that the ice-cream sold at Tokusawa lodge is very nice.
So I climbed down thinking about this icecream.
It was a long walk.
But hearing the birds chirp and walking through the shades of trees giving pleasant scent,
I thanked God for this life and His amazing grace.
徳沢に11時55分に到着。
アイスクリームは濃厚でおいしかった。ありがとうおじいちゃん。
1時15分に上高地に到着。
温泉に入って、バスと電車で帰宅する。
今年の夏休みも終わり。
主の計画とその愛に心から感謝します。
どうかこれからもあなたと共に歩むことが出来ますように。
I arrived at long awaited Tokusawa at 11:55.
Ordered an ice-cream, it had a very solid taste.
I finally arrived back at Kamikouchi at 1:15.
Took a quick bath at a hot spring and got on the bus.
My summer holiday is over.
I thank the Lord for His amazing plans for me and His unmeasurable love.
God is good, all the time.
