From 1pm, I visited an estate agency in Ogikubo to look for a room.
Ideally, I wanted to live in Ogikubo, where my church is located, but
since my company is moving its office at the end of October,
I decided to look around near Nakano Sakaue station, where both the
Marunouchi and Asakusa-line trains stop.
A guy at the agency took me on his car and I visited four flats in
total.
Most of them were rather gloomy (meaning either very small or very
narrow),
but there was one that I intuitively liked and have applied for it
today.
It's a bit expensive but I regard my own room as an important place to
get inspirations for many things, so I think it's worth it.
I haven't finalised my contract, but I hope I can live in this room.
In the evening, I walked around Ogikubo.
Tokyo is just so overwhelming....
There are just so many things.
When you go into a convenient store, you can choose from hundreds of
drinks, bentous (packed lunch), onigiris (rice balls),
and when you go into a drug store, you're inundated with POP
advertisements.
Walking around the city, I gradually started to feel ill.
I don't want to suffer from culture shock, so I told myself not to look
around too much and try to get used to this crazy city little by
little.
